~He married an hieress named Anne Hathaway (no joke) at age 18? She was 6 or 7 years older than him and was pregnant.
~He completed and signed his will on March 25, less than a month before he died?

William Shakespeare died on April 23, 1616 and that day is his birthday, too. Each year on his death day and birthday, a new quill pen is placed in the writing hand of a statue of him in his funerary monument in Stratford-upon-Avon (William Shakespeare 4).

  5. Dylan Says:

My favorite Shakespeare fact is that his family was illiterate (William Shakespeare Facts). I find it interesting that his family was illiterate because he was a great playwright, and I believed that he would have had his family educated.

Shakespeare put a curse on his grave to anyone who disturbed his remains.

“Good friend for Jesus’ sake forbear,
To dig the dust enclosed here:
Blest be the man that spares these stones,
And curst be he that moves my bones.”
