i do appreciate the music made in the 50’s and 60’s because of the influance the music has on us now it shows us a great deal on how it was back then and the issues facing these artists back then. Im pretty nervous about the project because i am usually not that creative. So i have 2 try extra hard to do well on this project.

It’s great to see what the music was like back in the 50’s through the 60’s. I really enjoyed hearing how much the music changed in such a short period of time. If the beatniks didn’t exist, we probably wouldn’t have the music we have today. I agree with Eric, with out music life would be alot different. It’s almost imposible to think what life would be with music. There probably wouldnt be any dancing or singing. What would you do on those long car rids.

I think this unit was fun more than it was beneficial. My parents love old-timey stuff like what we listened to so I get a taste of music roots everyday. But none the less, it was interesting to see how the music made such a political impact. It is hard to show how music evolved over the last 100 years in a week. But covering the beatniks and the more modern-day artists gave a compare/contrast outlook. I liked it.

i’m with Moorea in apreciating artists that use their music to help people. I think that it would take a lot more time to get me to fully apreciate the music and the lyrics. Having music combined with poetry makes both the music and poetry better. The project seems okay the only part I’m worried about is the musical stuff because I have no musical skill what so ever.

I am starting to understand how much music affected people back then. I apreciate the artist who truly spoke out agianst racism. Its interesting to learn about them.
