darian i sort of agree with alex u dont become savages just for killing one boar i mean in the book i think it made them feel likec they had to be savages to get more food though

“Social norms are customary rules of behavior that coordinate our interactions with others” (JHU Department of Economics). In the book Lord of the Flies, the characters develop a complete disregard for societal norms. This is apparent because they have to abandon these principles to survive, there is no punishment for wrongdoing, and there is no government to set laws to be followed. In the book they need to abandon some of these norms to survive, but instead they end up abandoning almost all of societal norms.
